belgian beer festival in May

Presented at Brussels House in Milan in collaboration with Tripel B, the second edition of the Belgian Beer Festival will take place from May 17th to 19th at the Fase Space in Alzano Lombardo (BG). An opportunity to discover over a hundred different labels in twenty styles, served directly by Belgian brewers. All accompanied by live music and typical tastings.

“Belgian brewers adopt four types of fermentation: low, high, mixed, and spontaneous; this has led to the production of at least ten beer styles. Alongside the classic blond, saison, and tripel, there is a growing desire to taste and appreciate beers with more complex aromas and flavors, such as lambics with acidic and lactic notes, and Flemish reds with acetic notes,” explains Lorenzo Dabove, known as Kuaska, the foremost Italian expert in Belgian beers, beer sommelier, and host of the tasting workshops at the Belgian Beer Festival.

Tasting experiences will take place on Friday, May 17th – from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm – Saturday, May 18th – from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm – and will allow participants to explore the sensory universe of Belgian beers through a guided path. A unique opportunity to learn the secrets of the beer sommelier’s art. In fact, despite the name Belgian Beer Festival – referring to the convivial aspect of the event – the festival represents a true tasting event, the only one of its kind in Italy, where you can taste over 50 different beers on tap and just as many bottled, in 20 different styles: light, strong, sweet, bitter, spicy, acidic, from the various provinces of Belgium.
